About the role:
Here at Babcock International, we are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and manage a large team in the provision of Engineering Inspection services to HM Naval vessels and customers. You will ensure that customer work tasks are delivered safely, on time, to specification and within an agreed budget, whilst maintaining close liaison with all key stakeholders.

Main responsibilities include:

* Maintaining a strategic overview of structural and systems integrity requirements for vessels and implementing necessary steps to ensure the capability of the EIS department is sustained whilst continually looking to exploit new technologies
* Assure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with the Company's safety, quality, cost and schedule requirements
* Implementation of the Company Safety, Quality, Environmental policies in the Engineering Inspection area
* Lead and motivate all the Engineering Inspection staff to deliver main objectives
* Assure that adequate suitably qualified and experienced resource and necessary equipment is available to conduct Engineering Inspection activities

What do I need to do the role?

You must be an experienced Engineering Manager ideally with knowledge and experience with engineering inspection procedures and processes

You must have an extensive background in managing and developing engineering teams ideally gained within a similar high hazard, high integrity sector if not holding technical direct experience in Welding & Inspection Services

It is also important you have experience in administration, reporting and managing cultural change within a team.

What else do I need to know?

This role is based at HM Naval Base Clyde, located 6 miles north of Helensburgh in the West of Scotland. We are well placed for commuter links to Glasgow and the wider region, but it is recommended for employees to travel by car due to the location.

We require an element of flexibility for this role as there is an occasional need to work weekends and night shifts to ensure the department is well supervised.
