An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation. Our client, a blue-chip IT company, is currently seeking a Security Cleared Deskside Support Engineer III - Hardware Break/Fix based on their customer site in Aldermaston. This is a Full-time, temporary role until December 2021 with possibility to extend. Monday to Friday then Monday to Thursday alternating weeks, 8 hours, and 20 minutes per day between 08:00 and 18:00 to start ASAP. The role is paying £30.90 per hour via an Umbrella company only.

Role Overview:

Our client is looking for a DV Cleared customer-focused and keen Hardware Break/Fix Engineer with a genuine interest in solving people's IT issues. The applicant should be technically competent, possess good written and verbal communication skills and be willing to collaborate with the wider IT support teams

The iFix Break/Fix On Site Services Team comprise of 8 Hardware Break/Fix Engineers and are responsible for providing desktop break/fix support to over 7,000 end users on site. In addition to desktop support, the role includes the maintenance of over 400 multifunction printers, which includes troubleshooting issues, providing software and hardware maintenance, and the management of toner, parts and other consumables.

The candidate must be prepared to work on a nuclear licensed site and possess an active DV clearance

Job Description:

  • Provide hardware break/fix end user support (Primarily H P and Lenovo Desktop Computers and H P Multifunction Laser Printers)
  • Ticket Management
    • Tickets resolved within SLA, unless expressly rescheduled by user or we are dependent on 3rd party
    • All tickets are updated regularly with recent actions undertaken and clear description of resolution upon closure
  • Network patching (fibre and CAT5)
  • Preparation, testing and installation of new printing devices
  • Printer Fleet optimisation including retirement of devices
  • Asset Management (including monthly fleet and stock audits)

Always adhere to customer policies and procedures

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

  • Understanding of desktop and printer hardware
  • Experienced in fault finding and hardware break/fix repair
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • COMPTIA A+

Desirable Skills/Qualifications:

  • (MCP) Microsoft Certified Professional
  • ITIL Foundation
  • COMPTIA Network+
