Business Development Manager - Logistics
I have a superb opportunity for a Business Development Manager to work for a global logistics company based in Manchester. You will be expected to win new parcel business and work to agreed budget targets. The BDM will the strengthen market position by locating, developing, defining, promoting, negotiating, and securing new business by closing the sale.
About the role:
- Sourcing and scheduling calls to prospective parcel customers
- Qualifying & profiling parcel opportunities
- Complete sales reports, manage their own Pipeline reports in accordance with the company quality procedures in the CRM system
- Telephone introductions of who and what we are and what services are offered
- Calculate and submit parcel quotations and tariffs efficiently and follow up accordingly, within the defined company format
- Provide customer online portal training for new/existing onboards
- Achieve agreed or given targets/deadlines as directed by your Manager
- Working with sales product management team on specific sector target campaigns
- General administration including weekly/monthly product sales meetings
- Ensure all customer accounts are set up correctly and maintain their settings
- Proactive problem solving when issues arises
Requirements:
- A result orientated, hardworking, self-starter who has a good understanding of the Express parcel Logistics industry with strong closing skills
- A positive thinker, you are the kind of individual who constantly challenges yourself to exceed expectations and is not easily deterred from achieving goals
- Excellent interpersonal & administration skills with accurate pipeline forecasting
- Ability to communicate at all levels within the business, good persuasive and negotiation skills
- Excellent processing & time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint
- Driving success via using initiative, determination & persistent
- 2-year solid sales experience, preferably in parcel / courier telesales logistics
- Relevant experience within parcel courier industry would be an advantage
- Not afraid of cold calling customer over the phone
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
Salary:
£35,000 - £40,000 working full time Mon-Fri, Quarterly Bonus & an extensive benefits package.
