About the role
Here at Babcock Education we are looking to recruit a Psychology Assistant.

The main purpose of your role will be to assist the Educational Psychology Service in undertaking education, health and care needs assessments for children and young people from 0- 25 years. You will undertake a range of psychological assessment activities in schools and other settings, or through video-conferencing under supervision to contribute towards education, health and care needs assessments and provide administrative support to EPs undertaking education, health and care needs assessments including pre-population of report templates for EPs in preparation for education, health and care needs assessments, downloading information and setting up service files.

Key Tasks and Activities:
You will work under the supervision of Educational Psychologists registered with the HCPC to undertake a range of information gathering activities including observations assessments and interventions, to support the service's work with children young people and their families. You will contribute to psychological reports and advice and offer support, consultations and advice to educational staff.

Other tasks include:
* Research and data gathering, including literature searches to support EPs in providing psychological advice and in preparing for their role as expert witness in SEND Tribunal
* To keep clear and accurate records in all areas of work
* To attend appropriate multi-agency meetings and development activities

What do I need to do the role?

You'll need a good honours degree in psychology (2.I or above), or equivalent Master's degree, conferring Graduate Basis for Registration with the BPS and experience of work with children and/or young people in a health, educational, care or community capacity.

We would also like you to have the following:
* Membership of the British Psychological Society
* Eligibility for the higher level salary may be considered on the basis of the following additional desirable qualifications and competencies
* Teaching qualification and experience, or professional qualification recognised by the HCPC and relevant experience
* Additional knowledge and experience in the field of SEND e.g. SENDCo award and/or
* Teaching post with additional responsibilities, with evidence of competence to offer advice and support to school staff and to deliver training independently

What else do I need to know?

The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role - This post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Due to the sensitive nature of the duties, the post holder will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS with CBL and ABL check
