About the role

Here at Babcock International we are looking to recruit a Process Management Specialist.

Babcock's Ship & Submarine maintenance business relies on effective and efficient facilities. These facilities are key assets and need to be designed, maintained and operated safely and efficiently.

Facilities Engineering (FE) has an exciting opportunity for a Process Management Specialist who will help ensure that the Facilities Engineering Management System drives efficient and safe work practises.


The role will be a part of the FE Chief Engineer's Office.

Working for the FE Continuous Improvement Manager, the Process Management Specialist will provide support to the various owners of the Nuclear Licence Conditions, Processes, Assets and Training Programmes through:

  • Developing and using expert knowledge of safe and effective work practices
    * Ensuring consistency across FE's Management Suite
    * Process Authorship and Verification (including Lead Process Authorship and Lead Verification on complex process suites)
    * Leading development on areas of FE's Management Systems including directing the development of tools and training to satisfy business need

What do I need to do the role?

You must have experience working in the nuclear industry or other highly regulated safety industry.

We would also like you to hold experience in the following:

  • Experience in developing and maintaining processes and procedures
    * Demonstrable experience in dealing with a broad range of stakeholders
    * An ability to work autonomously, with an aspiration for continuous improvement
    * Effective writing and presentation skills
    * Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel

Lastly, it is preferable, but not mandatory for the candidate to have a higher education qualification: HNC, HND, Degree (with Honours) or equivalent.

What else do I need to know?

  • The successful candidate will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
