Manpower are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client based in Northampton for a Packing and Dispatch Operative to join their team on a temporary - permanent basis with an immediate start!

Start Date: ASAP

Hourly Rate: £9.50

Hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 5pm

Job overview:

The role is for a General all-round Packing and Dispatch Operative working alongside the already existing team in the Dispatch Section

The role requires someone who can work as a team and on their own initiative

Job Responsibilities listed below:

  • Follow Packing Department Policies and Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensuring all products are packed with care and in accordance to work instruction, marked, labelled to customer specification and using correct packing materials
  • Responsible for ensuring all packed products are placed in correct Stock Shelf Location
  • Follow Daily Work Schedule, Priority List and complete packing orders within deadlines
  • Examine packing materials and products to ensure quality specifications are met
  • Process packing and dispatch paperwork accurately, and completely within deadlines
  • Measure, weight and count products and materials as required
  • Inspect, sort and process imported products and production materials when required
  • Responsible for ensuring all shipments are prepared for delivery accurately, to customer specification and to the deadlines
  • Responsible for ensuring all shipments from stock (up to 50 orders) are prepared for dispatch on the same day)
  • Responsible for ensuring all shipments are ready for dispatch in accordance with Courier Collection Schedule
  • Unload imported goods on the same day of collection and organising in the warehouse to China Processing Schedule ready for immediate processing
  • Picking orders from stock and processing Reserve Stock (SFS , RSF, SFSE) when necessary
  • Responsible for maintaining general cleanliness in the warehouse and outside perimeter
  • Clean packing station work area and storage area at the end of every shift
  • Handle and discard waste that packing process edicts in a safe manner
  • Follow Health and Safety Guidelines
  • Report any problems to direct line manager which deviate from the standard day to day process
  • Participate in regular Improvement Forums, Daily Meetings and assist in developing quality standards and improving work processes
  • Attending training programs and meeting sponsored by company for professional development
  • Assisting in processing Goods In to the warehouse
  • Communicate effectively with other departments and management as necessary
  • Training junior and new members of the team when needed

Required Skills:

  • Picking and Packing warehouse experience
  • Counterbalance Forklift Licence
  • Full Clean Driving Licence
  • Ability to remain calm in crisis situation
  • Ability to communicate effectively to colleagues and management
  • Ability to follow instructions and co-operate with management
