An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Analyst (Global Communications, Sustainability & Customer Development) to join our client, a leading global FMCG company with Brands such as Dove, Knorr, Persil & Magnum, to be based in Blackfriars, London (2 days per week in the office and 3 days from home). This is a full-time temporary role to last for 12 months, working a 36.25-hour week, to start ASAP (need to be able to start mid-December at the latest). This role is paying up to £40,000 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.

Role Overview

Finance Excellence Teams (FETs) are a core pillar within the UL Finance Operating Model. The Division FET directly business partners the Global and Cluster marketing teams across 3 core areas, Innovation, Budget Management and Information Management. Working within the FET provides ambitious individuals with the opportunity to experience the fast-paced environment of FMCG, working in a Global team and exposure across all UL divisions and markets.

The Finance Analyst (Global Communications, Sustainability and CD) will take responsibility for the Partnering and Controlling of the budgets managed by these areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for all overall budget reporting and control of cost base including month end close, accruals and financial controls
  • Work closely with the Comms, Sustainability and CD Budget Champions, service line VPs & Budget Control Lead on all budget and finance controlling areas, including budget re-allocations and forecast submissions
  • Key point of contact for Business Partners on all budget management matters across a wide portfolio of Comms, Sustainability and CD spend.
  • Own the monthly tracking of actuals and forecast across a wide portfolio of Comms, Sustainability and CD spend
  • Proactive detection of budget interventions to ensure delivery of budgets
  • Perform key financial control processes including Month End close reviews, GRIR and accrual management
  • Controlling the budget and playing a lead role within the Comms, Sustainability and CD budget community
  • Ownership and continued development of bespoke budget management tool Partnering with HR to ensure all FTE forecasts are correctly captured on a quarterly basis
  • Working with Global OH FET team to outsource and automate activities

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience of controlling budgets, including month end close.
  • Strong MS Excel skills and data management. SAP experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills to be able to manage large and complex set of stakeholders. Previous business partnering experience is not essential but would be beneficial.
  • Previous FMCG experience is not needed however a willingness to learn, and a desire to grow in a fast-paced company is essential.
  • Ability to manage large and complex datasets.
  • Strong attention to detail skills and objectivity.
  • Pro-active team player.
  • Strength in holding others accountable.
