Manpower are currently seeking a Software Quality Automation Engineer to join the Product Quality team located in Oxford, UK. This site is home to a unique new Technology and Innovation Centre and is responsible for the research, design and development of next generation products

37.5 hours per week

6 month contract - possible extension to 12 months

£23 hourly rate.

£44,850 per annum.

Principle Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and support to a team of Software Testers such that they can execute the tests to the test plan requirements.
  • Setup the Test Automation infrastructure and automate the UI workflow tests using various tools
  • Work with development team/QA leadership and come up with appropriate test automation strategies for the various parts of our applications across multiple software platforms
  • Identify and incorporate new test tools and processes aligned with industry best practices
  • Represent Software Quality as a key member of the new product development teams
  • Provide valuable services and guidance to new product development teams to support them in achieving high quality results
  • Consolidate a variety of data sources to identify and drive improvement to enhance product quality and overall customer experience
  • Plan software tests and evaluations of new product designs in accordance with the requirements of the corporate product life cycle
  • Define and implement test methods, test procedures and test criteria. Verify that the tests meet required feature specifications
  • Facilitate root cause of systemic failures discussions, and drive development process improvements to eliminate root causes
  • Analyse Software Quality metrics and report the observations to relevant engineering teams
  • Ensure quality processes and standards are followed and enforced throughout the project life cycle
  • Solve non-routine issues, challenges and problems within field of specialisation

Qualifications

Technical Must

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Software Engineering, or equivalent
  • 5+ years total experience including software development and software test automation. We expect to see:
  • Firm grasp on software and coding concepts, experience with coding languages like C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, Visual Basic
  • Experience in one or more test automation tools (e.g. Test Complete and Protractor)
  • Experience in creating Test Automation infrastructure (Jenkins pipelines/Virtual Machines)
  • Strong IT Skills
  • Experience in source control systems (e.g. Git)
  • Experience with modern software test automation strategies
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Understanding of project life cycle, test processes, change management tools e.g. JIRA

Technical Wants

  • 3+ years of software manual test execution experience
  • 3+ years of software test design experience
  • Software test experience in the Agile development process
  • Experience and certification for developing a cloud solution on AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Experience working remotely and/or working with teams that are distributed geographically
  • Experience working under a regulated environment is advantageous but not essential
