Buyer/ Planning Administrator

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Southend for a candidate to join our leading global wholesale distributor client as a Buyer/ Planning Administrator. This is paying £20.50 per hour, this role is full time temporary working Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm until mid-May 2022.

Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials from vendors.

• Ensuring suppliers meet their delivery commitments (ASN & PO confirmation), through regular calls and communications.
• Resolve and delivery delays with the supplier and escalate where support is required.
• Expedite material when required
• Work with suppliers on reducing Lead Times and improving delivery performance
• Evaluates vendor quotes and services and support to identify the most desirable suppliers

Skills and Experience

• Min 3 years' experience in material planning / buyer activities
• Works well under instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
• Works under immediate supervision but is self-motivated
• Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement where required
• Strong material expediting experience
• Strong communication and influencing skills
• Manage and resolve conflict
• Experience working across global supply chains ideally in BTS, metals stamping, moulding commodities
• Knowledge of SAP
• Experience of supporting forecasting and planning teams in a manufacturing environment
• Confident creating reports in Excel using VLOOKUP and pivots
• Self-directed and confident to approach colleagues and suppliers to find out what they need to know
• Self motivated and confident meeting new people
• Articulate in writing and conversation in person and over 'phone/email.
• Experience of expediting orders (pulling in and pushing out) with suppliers
• Creation of daily report metrics using SAP transaction data
• SAP administrator with experience of :
  a) Goods receipting/booking in
  b) PO entry and amendment
  c) Invoice and quantity queries
  d) ASN creation
  e) Generation overdue and PO acknowledgement reports (ZRC_Pursched)
  f) Inventory querying - MD04
  g) Bill of materials
  h) Material masters
