Help us grow:
We're looking for a driven, results oriented and solution focused full stack Software Engineer - we have Java and C# roles available - to join us in Babcock Mission Systems.

The difference you will make
As the Software Engineer you will work as part of a team to develop software capabilities. The role will encompass software and hardware interfacing. Your responsibilities will include;
* Requirements gathering through Stakeholder engagement;
* Software/ system analysis
* Full-stack software architecture and design - Java or C#
* Development environment management
* Technical authoring for bids and other documentation
* Prototyping and hardware configuration
* Performing software releases, updates and deployment activities
* Use of various SW development tools for Issue Tracking, Configuration control and software unit testing.

Who we're looking for
You will have an understanding of various development methodologies (Agile\Waterfall) and have a good working knowledge with Visual Studio IDE.

Experience
* An understanding of both agile and more traditional development methodologies such as waterfall;
* A minimum of experience in using: Visual Studio IDE and associated tools for development of Desktop or Web Applications
* Experience of a Software development in C# or Java is desirable
* Hardware and Software Interfacing Skills.
* Experience of full software development lifecycle in a cloud environment - MS Azure preferred

Skills and attributes
* Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
* Ability to work autonomously and use initiative.
* Willingness to learn new skills.

Education and Qualifications
Ideally you will have an HNC / HND or Degree in a suitable software development discipline (or similar relevant qualification)

Candidates without this qualification will be considered, if they can demonstrate considerable relevant experience within an equivalent role and are happy to undergo a coding test.
