This is a great opportunity for someone to join Babcock with a real zest for working in a Cyber Security role. You don't need to have experience of working in Security Operations to join us.

Who we are looking for?

We are looking for someone who has the drive and mind-set to learn in a fast paced, exciting, and evolving environment. This role is ideal for those who want to fast-track their development in Cyber Security as you will start out by learning the foundations of being a SOC Analyst, and will then gain exposure to a wide variety of SOC disciplines.

What will you be doing?

As a Junior SOC Analyst you will be working remotely with occasional visits between sites as required.

Your duties will include:
* Analysing and investigating security events from various sources
* Escalating confirmed security incidents to senior analysts
* Updating tickets, write incident reports and document actions for false positive reduction
* Posting incident review for 'lessons learned' and working with other resolver groups to ensure similar attacks won't succeed in the future
* Identifying log sources and examining system logs to allow a history of events to be reconstructed
* Using SIEM technology for log analysis and identifying 'use cases', as well as defining requirements for reports, and dashboards

The experience you'll bring

You will need a passion for information and cyber security and a keen interest in IT.

We would also like you to have the following:

  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills and an ability to analyse complex technical information in order to identify patterns and trends.
  • Written communication skills & the ability to write technical reports.
  • An understanding of the cyber security risks associated with various technologies and ways to manage them
  • A good working knowledge of various security technologies such as network and application firewalls, host intrusion prevention and anti-virus.

Lastly, you will need great verbal communication skills and presentation skills, with an ability to communicate with a range of technical and non-technical team members and other relevant individuals.

Other need to knows:

* You must hold or have the ability to obtain SC security clearance.
