Would you like to join our SEND and Inclusion Teams in an exciting new team which provides a comprehensive training and support package?

Babcock Education LDP are currently recruiting for a new team of Specialist Support Assistants to work delivering the SEND 100 Project- an exciting new initiative from Devon County Council to support children and young people in mainstream schools. The role will be delivering time limited, targeted packages of support in schools across Devon for pupils with special educational needs. We are looking for focused, enthusiastic and solution focused Support Assistants who are committed to inclusive practice and removing barriers to enable all pupils to access high quality education in their mainstream school. You will need good interpersonal skills and the ability to be able to advocate for the child as well as build positive relationships with key staff in the school.

We are looking for staff who have:

  • Experience of working with children and young people with SEN (further training will be provided)
  • Demonstrable experience and proven good practice in supporting learners in a range of settings and phases
  • Knowledge and understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) process and its impact on the Child and Young Person
  • Experience within educational setting preferred although other relevant experience will also be considered
  • A can-do attitude and a solution focused approach
  • The ability to use initiative and work well under pressure
  • The ability to communicate effectively with the children and other staff members

Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for regular business use.

Please note these are fixed term posts until the end of July 2022 pending the successful outcome of the project.
