Provide Governance across all Engineering and technical activities within a defined market sector, ensure technical capability and capacity meets the current and future operational and strategic demand. Develop people, processes and systems in support of the strategic direction of the Business market sector.Responsible for the 3 Year Engineering Strategy for Cavendish Nuclear Sponsor the delivery of Company Wide Engineering Initiatives (Example - Development of Digital Engineering Capability) Delivery of Cavendish Nuclear responsibilities for Babcock Group Engineering initiatives: Rationalisation of Engineering IT AssetsShadow Board MemberDevelopment of Group Policies and ProceduresRole Descriptions and Technical Competency FrameworkPay RationalisationDeputise for Engineering Director at Nuclear Engineering Directors Forum Primary interface with external bodies / customers with respect to the Engineering Strategy / Process / Direction Responsible for overall health of assurance process as it related to engineering activities in Cavendish Nuclear Decision maker for instances of "differing professional opinion" with the Business Unit Engineering Community Supporting the business on key activities as agreed with the Chief Operating Officer and Engineering Director (For example - pursuing key opportunities) Knowledge, Skills and QualificationsChartered Engineer and Member of relevant Institute Engineering degree or qualification in relevant engineering discipline Substantial demonstrable competence post degree / qualification covering a range of engineering and/or technical topics and demonstrable people leadership experience What else do I need to know?All applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK and be subject to satisfactory security clearance which includes 3 years reference checks.
