We have an exciting opportunity within our Major Infrastructure Projects' (MIP) business unit. In order to deliver the MOD's submarine programme over the next 40 years, a significant programme of infrastructure investment will be required on the Devonport site. The team specialise in configuration management for Submarine Refit Complex projects. This work comprises of a number of interrelated projects across the Submarine Refit Complex (SRC), including 14 Dock Readiness, Submarine Defuel Delivery Project (SDDP) and 15 Dock (Fleet 22 Project).


Who we are looking for?

We are looking for a Configuration Engineer to complete the configuration of safety cases for Safety Managers. Internal Stakeholders include Senior Configuration Engineers, Safety Managers. External stakeholders include Nuclear Regulator, NSR and from an Audit perspective, Lloyds Register.


What will you be doing?
This role comprises a number of areas of responsibility ranging from maintaining configuration of design and safety related documentation to the hazard protection and archiving of records.


* Providing management of Change Control through Setting to Work & Inactive Commissioning
* Assisting with the maintenance of Master Record Indexes across the Project and in the preparation of Data Request packs for review.
* Assist the Senior Configuration Engineer and Project manager / package manager / senior project engineer in the delivery of effective configuration management.
* Provide technical support to the governance of Configuration activities and provide advice and administrative support to due process and configuration management process requirements.
* Provide support to the Senior Configuration Engineer, administering key configuration tools Autodesk Vault, Access Database (SCaNDS) and processes (Change Requests, Design Reviews).

The experience you'll bring
* NVQ Level 3 in Administration based disciplines
* Document management experience in a regulated environment, plus an understanding of relational database methodology preferable.
* Diligent with documentation and ensure compliance with processes.
* Knowledge of Autodesk Vault, Microsoft Office, Access and SharePoint is desirable.
* You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
