This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a diverse, dedicated and growing team where you'll play a key and influential role leading and managing a multi-disciplined team to support the maintenance of high profile projects across all surface ships and nuclear powered vessels.

Who we are looking for?

The team will vary in numbers and personnel and is dependent on the work package, which can range in size of 20k - 100k man hours and 4 - 50 weeks duration. We are looking for two Delivery Coordinators who will provide task management functions for the duration of the project to which they are appointed to, whilst setting and managing project objectives for their team.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead and manage a team of industrial, non-industrial, RN personnel and where required sub-contractors to achieve the delivery of work packages such as hydraulic systems, rotating machinery, pressure testing and HP/LP air systems.
  • Ensure delivery of objectives in terms of safety, cost, time and quality requirements and use technical capability to plan and schedule packages of work.
  • Create and maintain an environment, which leads to safe working attitudes and practices, promoting the Company Safety, Quality and Environmental policies during projects ensuring that assessments of risks are carried out.
  • Work with your Delivery Manager to manage team development and performance of the Delivery Teams.
  • Promote an environment of continuous improvement and employee participation, with a focus on developing and employing standardised systems and processes throughout and across future projects.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders including Babcock staff, internal and external customers and contractors and representing the Fleet Programmes department in regular progress update meetings and other forums.

The experience you'll bring

  • Experience of managing and motivating large and multi-disciplined teams to meet project requirements.
  • A technical background ideally within high pressure hydraulic and pneumatic systems or aeronautical / oil & gas / nuclear or marine mechanical engineering background. A HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and manage workload and resources within a high pressure environment
  • Ability to produce clear, concise and well-structured reporting
  • Effective communication skills and competence in stakeholder / relationship management
  • Experience of working to Risk, COSHH assessments and Safe Systems of Work; including reviewing and writing risk assessments and conducting investigations
  • You must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role
