An opportunity has arisen for a Project Controls Manager to support one of our ongoing Warship Upkeeps in the Warships business unit based in Devonport - part of the Support Division of Babcock International Group.

As the Project Controls Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager and Delivery Team to manage project controls and support the successful delivery of the project.

The successful candidate will enjoy working with a high performing delivery team and engage both internally with business and programme leaders as well as important stakeholders across our customer community.

Main purpose of the role

The position will manage and ensure that project controls processes are consistently applied across the project, including:

  • Financial performance against forecast and budget
  • Schedule performance against key contract dates
  • Risk and mitigation management
  • Subcontract management
  • Contractual change and growth

Key Roles and Responsibilities include:

The successful candidate would preferably possess knowledge and experience within the following areas:

Essential:

  • Knowledge and experience of managing projects and commercial contracts
  • Knowledge and experience in Project Controls including the use of EVM and SRA, Project Change, Finance and Risk Management
  • Knowledge and experience of working in partnering and collaborative working environments

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and experience of Naval support: an understanding of Upkeep and Fleet Time Support Period planning and delivery processes
  • Controlling classified and commercially sensitive information

Together with the following skills & competencies:

  • Commercial awareness
  • Communication, negotiating and influencing skills
  • IT skills (MS Office and Business Systems)

What do I need to do the role:

Qualifications

Relevant Finance, Engineering or Business Qualification preferred.

This position is within the Warships business unit as a Band 7 with a salary of £50,510- £62,140 with DRDL Terms and Conditions.
