Mechanical Fitter Port Talbot

My client, one of the WORLDS top ten Steel producers are looking for Mechanical fitters offering long term positions within their steel factory based in Port Talbot

Job Description

Your task as a mechanical fitter will be to perform preventative maintenance and inspection work and provide expertise and resource to identify and rectify faults in complex systems to ensure manufacturing continuity. My clients Products manufactures hot-rolled, cold-rolled and metallic-coated strip steels and provides solutions in product design, processing technologies and management of the supply chain. They work closely with our customers to help them obtain the best results from our products.

You will work as part of a team to ensure manufacturing performance on an ongoing basis, support manufacturing development plans and identify opportunities for improvement.

You will be required to have relevant experience in mechanical systems and be safe in the execution of engineering repair work.

We require applicants to have the ability to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills and be computer literate and have the ability to work without close supervision, yet under pressure and to tight timescales is essential.

Job Requirements

The successful candidates will ideally be qualified to ONC level or have obtained an apprenticeship in mechanical engineering or hold a modern apprenticeship

Hours of work:

Mon - Friday 8am-4pm

37.5 hours per week
