This is your opportunity to join Babcock International carrying out Topographical surveys on the rail network to support PWAY, Civils and Signalling & telecoms upgrade activity.

Who we are looking for?

We are looking for a positive and tenacious individual, achievement orientated who sets and achieves high standards adopting a thoughtful, determined approach in pursuit of goals.

What will you be doing?
As a Topographical Surveyor you will be required to work days, nights and weekends and may also be required to stay away from home, when needed, due to the itinerant nature of the work across Scotland.

Your duties will include:
* Responsibility for all aspects of the technical delivery of individual survey projects.
* Carrying out topographical surveys across the Rail network including Route Clearance surveys, deformation surveys, elevation surveys and track setting out.
* Assisting the Survey Manager in the mentoring of trainees and graduates in a manner which encourages and assists them to reach their maximum potential.
* Assisting in the preparation of cost effective contract submissions including method statements.

The experience you'll bring
* You must hold or have the ability to obtain SC
* Degree qualified with applied experience or HND/HNC qualified with proven experience specifically in the rail industry.
* Fully conversant with all aspects of topographical surveying, including the use of the latest Total Stations, data collection of both Static and RTK GPS surveys, Route Clearance surveys, deformation surveys, elevation surveys and track setting out.
* Experience of managing smaller contracts and the supervision of junior staff on site
* Knowledge of operational railway and associated safety matters is essential.
* Must be prepared to work nights and weekends due to track possession activities.
