Manpower are currently recruiting for a Medical Revalidation & Appraisal Officer based in Oxford.

Working 37.5 hours per week

Monday - Friday, 9:00 to 17:00

£11.76 - £14.32 per hour depending on experience

Brief description of role:

To manage the Medical Appraisal and Revalidation processes and supporting the Responsible Officer in delivering requirements of the Licence to Practise and Revalidation Regulations (2012). To also ensure the provision of an efficient and effective HR service in relation to the medical workforce across Divisions. The post holder is required to manage and evaluate a revalidation process that is fit for purpose and manage the performance of Doctors to ensure appraisals are completed and are of a high standard. Co-ordinate the ongoing governance, information, technological and communication requirements in respect of the Revalidation Project.

  • Review the GMC Connect system to ensure that the list of doctors with a prescribed connection is accurate.
  • Prepare and present doctors supporting information at a monthly Revalidation Recommendation Meeting with the Responsible Officer.
  • Deliver one to one and group training on the Appraisal and Revalidation processes to Doctors with a prescribed connection.
  • Manage the group of Appraisers ensuring that they are all trained and submit appropriate appraisal documentation.
  • Manage the allocation of appraisers and dispute process when necessary

Qualifications or IT skills required:

  • Understanding of medical revalidation, appraisal, and governance systems.
  • Experience of working with clinicians and other professional staff

  • Experience of HR, recruitment and selection processes and advising on terms and conditions

Essential skills:

  • Knowledge of national terms and conditions of service for medical staff.
  • Knowledge of medical personnel practices and procedures and a working knowledge of the medical structures within a hospital setting
  • Knowledge of EWTD

Desirable skills:

  • Experience of managing/implementing medical HR systems
  • Able to demonstrate ability to highlight trends and provide forecasts
  • Presentation and Interpretation of workforce data and report writing
