An opportunity has arisen for a Financial Planning & Analysis Lead for the Marine Engineering & Systems value stream, within the Marine Sector. Reporting to the Sector Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, the role will lead a team of accountants and reporting analysts to ensure management information is collected and reported in an accurate, timely and meaningful way, providing senior management with the data and tools to support key decision making for the business.


What will you be doing?
* Act as the main point of contact for value stream reporting issues and requirements for the Marine Engineering & Systems Finance Director and their business facing Heads of Finance
* Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring support to the Marine Engineering & Systems FP&A team
* Oversee the Marine Engineering & Systems monthly reporting processes, including accounts preparation for the various reporting entities, including overseas businesses, and value stream analysis
* Manage and oversee the annual budget and monthly forecasting processes for the value stream
* Lead on site-based customer audits, including rate claims and negotiations
* Support the Sector finance transformation agenda, encouraging best practice across the whole function
* Provide support to the Head of Accounting & Controls where required, including but not limited to the external audit process

* Motivational leader and ability to develop key talent in the team
* Ability and desire to take a hands-on approach, willing to get into the detail but also see the big picture
* Excellent Excel modelling skills
* Strong communicator, ability to work with individuals at various levels of the organisation
* Drive for continuous improvement, and comfortable questioning the status quo
* Fully qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA accountant with significant post-qualification experience
* Knowledge of the Mission Systems business or experience in a similar defence organisation desirable
