Our client is currently recruiting for Emergency Call Handlers to work in their Bicester office, taking 999 ambulance calls. We're looking for people who want to make a difference and are looking for something other than the normal 9-5 job. Previous office or NHS experience is not required, but good customer service skills must be demonstrated. Successful candidates will receive substantial training and investment, after which they will be taking calls from the public for this service using the in-house computer systems with ongoing support. There will be further opportunities to progress. This role would suit an individual who wants to do something different and is looking for longer term career possibilities within one of the country's top services. It would also suit people with a background in caring for others who are to do something new and are looking for some responsibility. You will be providing First Aid information, dispatching ambulances, and passing on information to relevant services. We require a minimum of 2 GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English. Accounting for the 25% out of hours bonus, when you become a full member of staff you can expect to earn up to £21,000 a year. During the three-month probation period prior to this you will receive £9.09 an hour plus an increased rate for unsociable hours. You'll also receive from 27 days holiday per annum (based on full-time hours) plus 8 bank holidays (bank contracts accrue one hour to every nine hours worked), an NHS pension or NEST scheme and number of high street discounts such as Nando's and Dominos after successful completion of your training and probation period.

My client offers a 12-week training and support programme. You must be available to attend training from 9.00am - 4.30pm for 8 weeks on your selected intake date which will be agreed with candidates prior to interviews taking place. The site is operational 24/7 365 days a year, so applicants will be flexible to cover different shifts which will include 6-, 8-, 10- and 12-hour shifts, days, nights, and weekends on a part- or full-time basis.

All successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and must be able to provide Manpower with additional ID which will include x2 photographic and x1 proof of address OR x1 photographic and x2 proof of address.
