I have a superb opportunity for a Sales Executive to work for a Global Freight operator based at their offices in Manchester. You will be working on behalf of the Ocean Freight dept and have freight forwarding experience.


  • The ideal candidate should have experience of working within the Freight Forwarding arena, in all modes of transport. However, Ocean Freight background would be an desirable.
  • You will have excellent customer service skills and meticulous attention to detail. The suitable candidate will be a highly organised team player who thrives under pressure to deliver quality service to our clients.
  • Have a proven track record in sales within the freight forwarding community, with the Aptitude to achieve or exceed agreed sales targets and KPI's.
  • Computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office software is required.

About the role:

  • Plan and organise department to ensure that all calls are properly logged and followed up, and that a weekly sales plan with priorities, goals and achievements can then be formulated
  • To liaise internally with UK offices as required, to develop effective communications and generate new opportunities.
  • To validate inquiries and record client details into the system and to keep information updated
  • Assist with maintenance and further development of the company's sales and marketing strategy and to develop customer base
  • Promote products and services to clients and negotiate contracts with the aim of maximising profits
  • Sell products by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects, recommending solutions.
  • Develops sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts, soliciting new accounts, providing technical information and explanations to customers, and preparing quotations.
  • Required domestic traveling for client face to face meetings
  • Following up with customers to enable customer care
  • Analysis the competition to prevent a decline in sales and maintain market share
  • Self-motivation to achieve set target and surpass KPIs


£32,000 - £37,500 plus commission & bonus scheme, working 37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri, with an extensive benefits package.
