Our client, one of the UK's leading energy providers has an opportunity for a Project Support Officer on a 12-month contract, with the possibility to extend further. While hired into the CI & BOP team you will be providing project support to the whole of the PWRT Mechanical Systems Branch, working closely with the Mechanical System Branch Group Leaders and Technical Leads.

Nature and Scope

The role also involves continuous engagement with other groups, such as Document Control. This is a demanding post, requiring excellent communication and organisational skills, combined with pro-active approach. The role requires continuous use of TeamCenter software in order to support the Technical Leads in the Mechanical System Branch to undertake a large number of document control type tasks, such as:

  • Collating comments via email instead of in the tool,
  • Maintain Contract Distribution tables for the Technical Leads
  • Reviewing and validating Supplier the LoD submittals.

The PWRT Mechanical System Branch is required to meet its project milestones, therefore, it is very important that PSO resource supports the teams as required, with some of the TeamCenter tasks.

Principal Accountabilities

The successful PSO candidate will support the PWRT Mechanical System Branch Technical Leads to approve documentation on TeamCenter and ensure the key milestone dates are met. The candidate is to become a champion and centre of knowledge in the branch for TeamCenter, and will need to demonstrate the responsibilities listed below:

  • Accountable for the successful acceptance of document batches on TeamCenter and delivery to Project Manager;
  • Responsible for processing bulk acceptance of HPC Project deliverables on TeamCenter;
  • Maintain Contract Distribution tables for the Technical Leads;
  • Support the Technical lead in the Review and validation process of the Supplier LoD submittals;
  • Support the Technical Lead in the problem solving of TeamCenter issues;
  • Develop work processes in the Branch that makes acceptance of documents efficient;
  • Continuous engagement with PWRT Tech Leads and Doc Control to ensure work process is effectively implemented and priorities are set in a timely manner;
  • Attend weekly meeting with key stakeholders in order to set up priorities for the upcoming week;
  • Provide weekly updated on progress and focus plan for upcoming week to Group Leaders, via meeting or otherwise.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience

  • Technical and analytical skills;
  • Attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Lots of initiative and good people skills;
  • Strong communication skills, including planning, presentation, communication and mediation skills;
  • Experience in reporting and sharing information to upper management;
  • Previous team support experience;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Power Point;
  • Desire to learn and develop;

  • Experience of Information Management on complex capital projects with extensive interfaces between business functions, processes & systems with a large dependency external partners;
  • Previous experience working in the energy industry

Please note; if successful you will be employed by Manpower working on a temporary ongoing basis at our client site, the duration of the role is until the end of December 2022 with scope of extending for the right candidate. You will be expected to undertake a drugs and alcohol test as well as be security checked to BPSS level.
