Mechanical Design Engineer

I am working with a specialist engineering organisation headquartered in Lancashire who design & manufacture specialist machinery for a wide range of applications/market sectors.

The company are looking for an experienced Design Engineer who is proficient in Solid Works and has a good understanding of mechanical engineering/pneumatics - The role requires working closely with the owner of the company and the candidate must be able to work without supervision meeting deadlines and working to a basic design brief.

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Design or equivalent qualification
• At least 5 years' experience working mechanical / engineering environments
• Proficient in the use of Solidworks
• Design of new machines and machined parts
• Creation of Bill of Materials
• Issue work orders to production
• Strong Communication skills
• Liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors and production teams
• Assist with documentation and preparation of quotations
