This is your opportunity to join Babcock International working on a variety of Military vehicles from Land Rover up to Protect Mobility vehicles and everything in between. This is an exciting opportunity to deploy to Overseas Military locations such as Kenya, Oman and Germany to support the British Military on their annual training exercises.

Who we are looking for?

We are looking for an experienced Mechanic with the ability to work on own initiative to assist delivery of site objectives & targets in line with internal policy/process. You will have the ability to develop effective relationships internally at a variety of levels as well as being effective in both your interpersonal and communication skills.

What will you be doing?
As an AST Vehicle Mechanic you will play a key role inspecting, servicing, repairing and overhauling of the vehicles, assemblies, electrical and general equipment including diagnostic and inspection duties and carrying out examination tasks. Whilst deployed you will receive an excellent remuneration package including accommodation, food and transport.

Your duties will include:
* Ability and willingness to work away from home location, in all weathers throughout the year
* Capability of in depth engineering work and diagnostics on large, and small vehicles
* Adapting to a wide variety of unusual vehicle platforms using modern repair techniques and skills
* Adept at reading and utilising repair manuals, spares lists and modern diagnostic schematics through modern media assets as required
* Problem solving using technical knowledge and experience to obtain positive outcomes
* Working efficiently to achieve targets and specific deadlines set by Line Manager to achieve positive results

The experience you'll bring
* Must have or have the ability to obtain SC security clearance
* Experience working as a Vehicle Mechanic in either the Military or a Commercial garage
* Will hold a HGV NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent as a minimum
* UK driving licence, CAT C desirable
* Ability to work overseas on a three month on one month off basis
