Who we are looking for?

We are looking for two Production Supervisors who have formal Fabrication, Shipbuilding Technical Qualifications and are time served with extensive recent and relevant experience in Fabrication and Welding.

What will you be doing?

As a Production Supervisor you'll lead, manage and motivate a group(s) of operators to safely achieve defined packages of work and meet contract requirements. Utilise resources in the most effective manner focusing on elimination of waste and improving value add. All within the prescribed budgets, quality and delivery timescales.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Set production targets to employees on a daily basis ensuring achievement and management of activity levels within the area.
Liaise and work with planning, materials, warehousing, quality and other support functions to ensure a co-ordinated team approach. Liaise and work with customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
Promote and encourage ownership and accountability within the team. Identify and facilitate training requirements, ensuring employees are suitably trained and experienced for the task(s) they are allocated.
Ensure maintenance of equipment within designated area. Identify and provide appropriate tools and equipment, instruction and technical data to operatives.
Participate in the development of a continuous improvement culture and identify specific areas were value can be added.
Assist with forecasting resource and the provision of budget requirements.

The experience you'll bring

You will have the ability to read, understand and disseminate technical drawings and converse with the technical requirements. A background in Heavy Fabrication of Steel Structures would be an advantage.

We would also like you to have some or all of the following;

Experience of IFS for bookings & progress would be an advantage.
IOSH qualified.
Synergi & Risk Assessment trained.
Workshop organization, 5S, Lean process improvement.
Clear understanding of the need for a Safe Healthy and Environmentally effective systems of work.
Strong back ground in cylinder fabrication.
Working with Metric dimensions to very tight tolerances.
Laser leveling and working to Datum's.
