Role Profile

Wincanton are looking for Class 1 drivers who has a passion for customer service to join our team in Northampton carrying out store deliveries for our Wickes contract.

  • £37,440 per annum
  • £39,686 with full annual bonus
  • £16.00 per hour
  • Monday to Friday working ONLY
  • Flat rate of £180.66 paid for a sixth shift
  • Average 3 store deliveries per day
  • 45 hours per week contract
  • Starting between 0400 and 0900
  • Optional nights out will be available paid at £27 per night out payment

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be required to ensure correct completion of tachographs in line with legislation and company policy/procedural requirements
  • Accountable for monitoring own driving hours in line with legislation
  • To attend any relevant training as required to ensure you remain fully equipped to perform your role effectively and to assist in the development of continuous improvement
  • To be responsible for the Health and Safety of themselves and other operatives by adhering to safe working practices and the Health & Safety to Work Act
  • To report any accident or damage to any equipment or machinery
  • Following socially distanced conditions in line with government guidelines regarding Covid-19

Experience and Qualifications

  • You MUST hold a valid in date (C+E) Class 1 licence
  • You MUST hold a Valid Digital Tachograph Card
  • Full Driver Qualification Card (Driver CPC)
  • Minimum 6 months Class 1 driving experience ( or solid Class 2 / PSV experience )
  • Previous experience in a customer facing role would be an advantage
  • Previous experience delivering to stores and supermarkets would be an advantage
  • Have a positive, flexible attitude to work
  • Good timekeeper, with the ability to work unsupervised
