I have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Supervisor to work for leading private providers of short-term accommodation and support services in the public sector. Based in Swindon Working 40hours a week. Salary £30,000.

Propose of the Role:

Reporting to the Transport and Logistics Manager, this role provides support and coordination to the logistics team. In addition, this role has a management responsibility as part of the Transport/Logistics Transition team to improve the efficiency, smooth-running and cost minimisation of the team's operations

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure 100% of the AASC logistics demand is met within contractual timelines and in the most cost-effective delivery method.
  • Ensure that the cheapest (whole-life cos) contractually compliant inventory items are held to meet the demand with a low level of risk (and minimising warehouse holdings to reduce cash-flow impact).
  • Reduce the cost of buying, holding, and distributing inventory while avoiding AASC KPI penalties.
  • Reducing wastage and environment impact of all transport, warehouse, and inventory/logistics operations.
  • Ordering / Purchasing of stock in and out of logistics in accordance with agreed process.
  • Monitor Logistics Driver / Fitters working hours using clock-in / clock-out process and evidence then authorise overtime accordingly.
  • Creation and maintenance of a monthly logistics stores log providing spend information, non-compliance etc.
  • Maintain office processes and procedures in support of company governance and group requirements
  • Using a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Power Point, Excel, Access, etc., to produce correspondence and documents and maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Dealing with CBP (Business Portal), incoming communication and corresponding as required
  • Filing correspondences
  • Provide breakdown of order fulfilment to finance team weekly (Inventory/Clean-Clear)
  • Regular liaison with local managers and Head Office staff
  • Organising and storing paperwork, documents, and computer-based information


  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Microsoft Office, i.e.: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Communication and Liaison.
  • Keep up to date with all written and verbal communications (i.e., emails/messages/calls).
  • Ensure all records are maintained and kept up to date according to company policies and procedures Training and development.
  • Monitor own work levels, progress, and development.
  • Undertake all core training and development programmes as required.
  • Undertake relevant learning according to agreed Personal Development Plan Any other duties within the scope of responsibility and ability, as required, inclusive of providing similar support to any other local company project. You will also be required to cover the department duties during periods of absence.
