As the epitome of innovation, this emerging electric vehicle company's vision is to create an evolution of premium, electric vehicles; coupled with the best possible user experience. Founded in 2014, this progressive EV company is gaining traction globally and has launched world-class research and development, design and manufacturing centres in over twenty countries.

Their UK-based Advanced R&D Centre houses some of the best names in the industry and due to further growth, an opportunity has arisen for an Occupant Safety CAE Engineer, to join this team. Does this sound like the type of company that can offer you the exciting next step of your career?

Collaborating with team members across the globe, in your new role as an Occupant Safety CAE Engineer you will perform CAE work in occupant protection and restraints across all vehicle programmers. You will also take ownership of optimising seatbelts, airbags and other interior components to deliver and exceed safety standards, with the ultimate goal of optimising performance and efficiency. The core responsibilities for this role, are as follows:

  • Developing occupant and restraints models in LS-Dyna.
  • Leading occupant simulations of required load cases, analysing results and providing design recommendations through the development phase of vehicle programs.
  • Supporting the development and optimisation of the restraints system, working on seatbelts, airbags, seats and interior components.
  • Supporting improvements in modelling techniques to help increase simulation accuracy and engineering knowhow.
  • Assessing CAE model results against physical test data and determining root causes for differences.

My client is keen to speak with people who are proactive, by nature, possess great attention to detail and the personal motivation to join a dynamic organisation.

The ideal person for this role will have a minimum of five years' expertise in CAE engineering and an in-depth working knowledge of occupant safety, crash test dummies and restraint components. You will also need a thorough understanding of finite element analysis and hands-on experience with LS-Dyna and pre and post-processing tools such as PRIMER, ANSA, META, HYPERMESH and HYPERVIEW.

In return, my client is offering an excellent salary of £55,000 - £65,000, dependent on experience, for this permanent role. The role will be based in Oxfordshire, with hybrid working available and occasional travel to China, Europe and the US.
