We have an exciting opportunity to join Babcock International Group as a Mobile Technician. You will be responsible for the servicing and repairing of motor vehicles at Police Stations / roadside throughout London in a safe and efficient manner.

Who we are looking for?

As a Mobile Technician, you will provide a reliable, efficient and courteous service to our customer at the Metropolitan Police Service, covering all of London area. You will be able to offer excellent customer service as well as build effective relationships.

You will have a minimum three years' experience as a qualified motor vehicle technician and, as Mobile Technician, you will use this experience to work in productive and safe manner, ensuring quality of work is completed at the upmost standard.

What will you be doing?

As a Mobile Technician you will play a key role prioritising vehicles and maintenance ensuring completion in accordance with procedures in operation and to the standard and Quality required.

Your duties will include:

  • Repairing vehicles, components and accessories including removal and refitting in a safe, proper and economical manner using equipment provided.
  • Diagnosing faults and testing vehicles utilising equipment available and using recognised test procedures and techniques.

As a Mobile technician for Babcock, you will play a key role in keeping the Metropolitan Police fleet moving and on the road. You will undertake maintenance repairs, as well as in-depth fault finding and diagnosing of not only vehicle mechanical and electrical systems, but also their specific purpose built equipment. This could entail Warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications, and identifying recharge works to be relayed back to the customer and you're line manager.

The experience you'll bring:

  • Proven experience in a Motor Vehicle technician role, with relevant experience gained as a fully qualified technician.
  • City & Guilds 1 & 2 in motor vehicles studies or equivalent NVQ levels 2 & 3 or equivalent.
  • Ideally completion of Manufacturer training through Ford, Vauxhall, Volvo or BMW
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of diagnostic equipment
  • Good level of Industry knowledge / awareness
  • Basic level of computer skills required
  • Full driving licence
  • Working as part of the Met Police contract you will need to be subject to security checks (NPPV2)

You much supply your own tools, however parts and specialist equipment (e.g. trolley jacks, diagnostic tools) will be provided.
