Do you have previous experience within a busy Transport Office? Are you looking to join a business that can offer genuine, long term career progression?
Due to new contracts and subsequent growth, my client is currently looking to add a Transport Coordinator to their established team in Telford.
Overview
- Responsible for the scheduling and monitoring of vehicle deliveries within agreed delivery times.
- Monitoring and making sure adherence to driving rules and regulations.
- Liaise with drivers, customers, suppliers and others as appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with team members and harness good working relations.
- Assist with the scheduling of Vehicles for service & maintenance checks.
- Initiate appropriate corrective action when substandard performance or issues arise.
- Undertake other duties from time to time, as and when required.
- Attend Transport Team meetings and participate in team decisions and operations.
- Ensure a seamless service to all customers.
- Good understanding of the Drivers Hours, Rules & regulations.
- Communicate within the transport team, warehouse and sales teams to advise of planned routes, vehicle allocations and driver availability.
- Allocates drivers & driver mate to static multi-drop routes throughout the UK for wholesale & telesales orders
- Liaising with recruitment agencies to arrange temporary supply of drivers as and when required to support routes
Key Skills
- Organised and focused.
- Knowledge of Multi-drop driver Transport Planning experience.
- Lead by example and willing to support team.
- Self-motivated, and driven.
- Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
- Must be a team player with strong communication skills.
- Confident communication skills, with drivers, customers and other departments within the company
- Highly organised and strong administration skills
Requirements
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, in particular MS Excel
- Attention to detail
- Positive attitude, deals with challenge & change
- Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
