Location: Faslane, Helensburgh, GB, G84 8HL
Compensation: £42,400 - £50,750 + Bonus + Benefits

Here at Babcock International, we are looking for a Shiplift Maintenance Manager. You will manage Shiplift maintenance, delivering the engineering assurance required to meet the Operational Safety Case and ensure that facility can meet its operational objectives safely, on time, to specification and within an agreed budget. Ensuring close liaison with all key stake holders throughout.

Who we are looking for?

We are looking for a Shiplift Maintenance Manager to lead, motivate and direct a team of 30 maintainers to conduct specialist maintenance on Shiplift including Nuclear Safety implicated systems and standard systems.

What will you be doing?

You will become a subject matter expert for docking operations. Progressing to the stage where you can berth a submarine and contribute to the docking procedures, ultimately become docking officer. (Support in the docking of nuclear vessels).

The experience you'll bring

You will need to be fully conversant in Shiplift business and operations. Competency and experience in managing the conduct of Shiplift procedures and processes would be beneficial.

We would also like you to have the following:

  • A Degree in an Engineering Discipline or Equivalent
  • Previous experience of running maintenance in a complex and safety critical environment.
  • Ability to work to highly constrained time lines and understand engineering standards.
  • Previous experience of managing a team and completed management training courses such as ILM 5 or equivalent.
  • Strong stakeholder management and customer engagement skills as will liaise with various levels of key stakeholders from Navy, MOD design, nuclear regulator, and regular visits from high ranking military and civil service personnel and visitors.

Lastly, you will need to satisfy the Ministry of Defence security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
