Transport Planner - Southampton

A fantastic opportunity to join a specialist team who supply container transport services across the UK as a Transport Planner. They are seeking a Transport Planner with 1-2 years of experience in container haulage to join their fast-paced team based in Southampton Port. This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious and organised candidate that is looking for a long-term career with the opportunity to progress through the business.

Requirements -

• A good understanding of driver's hours and transport legislation to ensure deadlines are met and in a cost-effective way.
• Must be a team player, self-motivated, have good IT skills and most importantly be able to communicate effectively.
• This is a high-pressured role where you will be responsible for the route planning of multiple vehicles so being able to work well under pressure is vital whilst also demonstrating strong administration skills.
• A background in container haulage is essential to enable you to excel in this role.

Main Responsibilities -

• Effectively planning a large fleet of vehicles routes for the day.
• Monitoring live jobs that are running to ensure any delays that occur are identified.
• Speaking with customers to report any issues or delays ensuring excellent customer service is delivered.
• Working as a team to support each other when any issues occur.

Benefits -

• The salary for this role ranges between £30,000 and £35,000 dependent on experience.
• 28 days holiday.

Shift Pattern -

Shift times - 7AM-5PM, 8AM-6PM, 9AM-7PM, Rotates weekly. 1 in every 3 weekend a Saturday morning.
