The MOD owns a fleet of 11 nuclear-powered submarines that are maintained with the support from Babcock as the MOD's in-service submarine support partner. Babcock's role includes the delivery of physical engineering activities at dockyards in Plymouth and Faslane, as well as supporting the MOD in key planning activities (conducted in Bristol).

Who we are looking for?

We are looking for a Future Supply Chain Strategy Manager to lead Babcock's input to ensuring that new classes of submarine are able to be supported by the supply chain during the in-service and disposal phases of their life-cycle. This means working with partners in other organisations to ensure that new submarines comply with the existing supply chain operating model.

What will you be doing?
* Leading a small team to influence the design of the platform to ensure that the supply chain can support new platforms when they are in-service. The role covers the full breadth of supply chain disciplines (such as procurement, planning, logistics etc.)
* Develop and maintain an in-service supply chain strategy for new submarines, which will include liaising with the wider supply chain teams in Babcock to develop long-term category and contracting strategies for future platforms
* Identify, manage and formulate mitigation strategies for supply chain risks that may impact new submarines in-service
* Liaise with the MOD and Babcock teams to ensure a smooth transition from build supply chains to in-service supply chain support

The experience you'll bring
* Considerable experience of supply chain management and supply chain strategy in order to lead this vital programme of the next generation of submarines.
* Highly experienced in leading teams, collaborating with others and implementing changes.
* Highly efficient communicator at all levels with the ability to hold oneself in a complex argument.

You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
