The Type 26 Class Lead Engineer is a key role within the business, propelling the Warships Business Unit Technology Programme forward, leading the engineering of the Royal Navy's biggest escort class within a multi-disciplined teams across the business.


What will you be doing?
The T26 Class Lead Engineer's (CLE) primary purpose is to lead and deliver the engineering output within the T26 Transition Team to ensure successful delivery of the programme for 8 vessels. The role also leads the Class Warships Technical Authority (WTA) as part of the Common Support Model. Additionally, it is about transforming the Technical Authority functions to increase the effectiveness of our support and focus on process, capability and SQEP capacity. This requires the building and maintaining of the necessary relationships with other key technical customers, both internal and external, to ensure the platforms are adequately supported through life.

The role requires frequent travel to Bristol and Scotland, with additional travel as required for the role, some of which may be international.

The experience you'll bring

Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competences
* Operating at Senior Manager level
* Experienced in a Systems Engineering, Programme and Project Management.
* Competency in verbal & written communications at Exec/Board level.

Qualifications
Degree qualified and Professionally registered engineer at CEng level.
MSc and Fellow preferable.
