About the role:
Here at Babcock International we currently have opportunities for experienced Electrical Fitters to join our Estates Management team which is responsible for investigating and diagnosing electrical faults, carrying out repairs and conducting scheduled maintenance activities at HMNB Clyde and RNAD Coulport.

Specific responsibilities will include carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on Electrical distribution equipment, LTHW, MTHW & Steam heating systems and associated distribution equipment, HVAC systems, overhead cranes and other facilities equipment in all areas of the depot.

It is important that applicants are comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces and inclement weather conditions.

What do I need to do the role?

You will have previous Electrical Fitter experience and a recognised Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship qualified to N/SVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 as a minimum.

You will demonstrate a strong team ethic and a focus on delivering high quality workmanship to agreed timescales. Ideally, you would have previous experience of working in an environment where activities were governed by strict working procedures. Experience of working with a wide variety of different systems commonly found in engineering environments would be an advantage.

What else do I need to know?
This role is based at HM Naval Base Clyde, located 6 miles north of Helensburgh in the West of Scotland. We are well placed for commuter links to Glasgow and the wider region, with easy access for car and public transport.

The successful candidate will need to be eligible to gain and maintain UK SC level security clearance for this role

There may be some travel to our Coulport site if required.

The working hours for this role are a standard 4.5 day week, Monday to Thursday 08:05 - 16:45 and Friday 08:05 - 12:05 (36 hours in total).
