As a support partner to the Royal Navy, the Babcock Marine Support Business Unit provides through life support to Royal Navy Warships. This is provided across a diverse range of engineering disciplines, from mechanical, electrical, systems, safety, environmental, data analytics and supportability. You will be working alongside other highly qualified and knowledgeable engineers to deliver the design and technical capability to provide through-life support of RN complex Warships, whilst delivering essential technical support to the Support Business growth programme.

The WTA Platform Systems Senior Engineer is responsible for spanning the boundary between the COM, WTA and Customer. You will work closely for the CLEs interpreting customer requirements and approving the WTA outputs to maintain design intent, to fully optimise availability of complex platforms through informed analysis of the up-to-date material state for the Class.

Specifically, as WTA Senior Platform Systems Engineer, you will ensure the provision of technical support to all CLEs for Legacy classes: Type 23 Frigates, Amphibious Assault Ships, Landing Craft and Single Role Mine Hunters as managed by Babcock COMs. You will be onboard often, working closely with various stakeholders to inform support decisions, define changes to the vessels, manage priorities to meet the Programme and provide marine systems subject matter expertise.

Agile working is part of the operating model for the WTA with staff able to actively balance their presence onsite, onboard, and at home, to best support needs of the Warship programme, the company, and our people.
