I have an excellent opportunity for a BDM, to work for a Global Freight company. You will be working on behalf of the Road Logistics team; this role is remote so the candidate can be based anywhere in Yorkshire. Road logistics BD experience is a must for this role. You will be responsible for generating new business opportunities for the Road logistics business unit.
Responsibilities
To actively solicit business in a designated territory through external sales visits, where in there could be
the requirement for client presentations.
Assisting and completion of Tenders for nominated area.
Understanding the Customer needs and provide solutions which meet there requirement to close
business.
Telesales requirement to ensure enough new business appointments are closed to hit targets.
Actively plan and co-ordinate your local area sales strategy, ensuring consistent and regular contact is
maintained with existing and potential Customers. Ensuring that operational and financial issues are
resolved in a timely and efficient manner
Responsible for regularly recording all contact made with the Customer on the Customer Relationship
Management tool - CRM, ensuring data integrity at all times
Raise appropriate quotations and sales literature, when requested to do so by the Customer
Skills and Experience
GCSE Maths and English Grade C or Above (or equivalent)
Proven business to business, face to face sales experience
Experience of working within a targeted new business environment.
Experience of working to individual targets
Experience of generating own sales leads
Be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role with a medium/large Forwarder
Strong background in European Road Freight/Groupage
Strong communication and inter-personal skills
