Desktop Support Engineer
Manpower are currently recruiting for a Desktop Support Engineer on a 3 month term contract based in Gillingham, Kent.
Salary will be up to £35,000 (16.13ph)
You will be delivering and managing service requests, hardware software and end user set up and configuration with other range of duties as below:
- Build development and project implementation work, such as customer moves, migrations, audits and refresh programmes.
- Identify repeat calls, and escalate so solutions can be implemented to reduce or eliminate those repeat calls.
- Mentor junior team members and ensure that correct process if adhered to for the delivery and support of the desktop function.
- Help develop processes to ensure an 80% first time fix rate, and that 90% of calls are solved in 24 'real-time' hours of first being logged, and contribute to implementing plans to move from current levels to those targets.Install and test new versions of system software.
- Investigate and make recommendations for resolution of potential and actual service problems.
Candidate Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of modern IT systems, including desktop, software packages, smart-phones etc.
- Able to travel across sites in Kent
- MCDST Certification, MTA 349 OS Fundamentals and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation certs
- Be able to demonstrate experience building, configuration of client support services including remote tools.
