Our client is looking to recruit Machine Operators & Manufacturing Operator based in Balloo, Bangor. This a full-time role paying between £9.55 - £13.86 per hour dependant on experience. This is a temporary contract starting immediately

Shift Patterns: Days Mon-Thurs 08:00 - 16:00 & Fri 08:00 - 15:00 £9.55 - £10.42ph

Afternoon/Evening Mon-Thurs 16:00 - 00:00 & Fri 15:00 - 22:00 £11.71 - £12.71ph

Nights Mon-Thurs 00:00 - 08:00 & Fri 00:00 - 08:00 £12.86 - £13.86ph

OR

Days Mon 12.00 - 20.00 Tues - Thurs 08.00-20.00

Nights Mon 20:00 - 08:00 Tues - Thurs 20.00 - 08.00

Forklift experience is ideal. Ideally candidates should hold a valid Reach or Counterbalance Forklift Certificate

Main Tasks (Daily)

Safety

  • Carry out one BOP per week
  • Participate in Departmental Safety Meetings
  • Report all anomalies via an IPR with Supervision
  • Complete any assigned audits requested, FLT, Safety Checks etc.

Quality

  • Carry out Quality Checks as Per Standard Work Checklist
  • Carry out width and length check at start of shift and after any width changes on the machine
  • Make any necessary changes to machine to ensure highest quality standards
  • Ensure any requested samples are left out for Lab
  • Wrap, carton, and label inspections carried out as per Standard Work Checklist and recorded

Productivity

  • Run machine at set speeds ensuring safety & quality not compromised
  • Service machine by getting Jumbo, cores and film, pallets, corners and remove waste
  • Enter data into SAP
  • Main Operator during set-ups by helping lift and move set-up components
  • Carry out product changeovers to minimise downtime and waste
  • Seek Maintenance support if machine not allowing you to run at set speeds
  • Seek Process support if product quality issues stop you running at set speeds
  • Use Hand trucks/FLTs to move materials to allow for continuous running
  • Carry out Standard Work Tasks as per schedule on machine
  • Remove Pallets from Robot/ place new pallets & lift Cartons and stack onto pallets where necessary
  • Attend and report any issues daily at Tier 1 Meetings
  • Totally responsible for quality and output levels of machine

Lean/5S/Standard Work/Kaizen

  • Carry out your 5S audit every shift and report issues, Keep area Tidy
  • Follow your SW routine and record completion
  • Get involved in Kaizen events supporting departmental changes/challenges
  • Ensure all ideas are raised through Tier 1 Meetings
  • Get involved and attend any Lean Training initiatives

Flexibility

The department has weekly and Monthly production plans to hit and any downtime should be used to help others in the department or; pack Weurth, Exports, plan next size change, housekeeping checks, BOPs. Failing that seek guidance from Supervision who may require your support in other areas.
