This is an opportunity for a new Material Accountant to join our team of 11 responsible for the daily management of Equipment Support Materials (ES Mat) and General Support Materials (GS Mat), primarily vehicle spares, in support of our Defence Support Group (DSG) output.

Who we are looking for?

We are looking for an experienced Material Accountant to join our team based in Tewkesbury, to assist in the completion of our warehouse operations. This will include the fulfilment of Receipt, Store, Maintain & Issue (RSMI). Moreover, it will include the additional responsibilities of data management and forecasting. This will involve liaising with the Workshop, Warehouse and Office staff to accept goods and returns back to the depot.

What will you be doing?

  • Managing material demands placed by Scopers and other stakeholders ensuring the correct scrutiny is conducted
  • Managing and ensuring co-ordination of materiel demands and the creation of Bills Of Material (BOMs)
  • Liaising with Production and Planning on materiel requirements and availability.
  • Ensuring that Stock Available For Issue (SAFI) is managed
  • Liaising with Procurement and the Authority on spares availability and follow the COSL process to highlight the shortage of critical spares
  • Providing accurate material availability forecasts with regards to location, batch control, life expiry and stocktake

The experience you'll bring

  • Previous experience in a Stores/Warehouse environment
  • Understanding of supply chain
  • Accuracy of data input and material processing
  • Strong IT and administration skills
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Highly Desirable: MJDI, JAMES, VITAL, BAAN, MIS, ISIS, MMiT and SAP)
  • Fit and able bodied for manual handling tasks
  • Must have or the ability to obtain SC security clearance
