Main responsibilities

Reporting to the Enquiries Manager, your main responsibilities will be:

  • To respond to enquiries from applicants, prospective students and other stakeholders by telephone and email in a courteous, friendly and helpful manner.
  • To assist with managing the enquiries email inboxes for applicant enquiries, ensuring that enquiries are triaged or responded to in an efficient and timely manner.
  • To use SITS, MySRS, Outlook and the Enquiries Team's OneNote knowledge base and other information sources identified by the Enquiries Manager in order to service enquiries appropriately.
  • To liaise with other members of staff across the Enquiries Team Admissions Team, School/ Faculty offices and other key departments (such as Accommodation Services and Enrolment) to ensure that enquirers' needs can be met.
  • To undertake outbound calls to applicants and enquirers as required.
  • To support the Admissions team with offer confirmation activities.

Person specification

Essential:

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Be able to multi-task and adapt to changing work allocations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as the post holder will be required to liaise confidently and professionally with applicants, prospective students and staff, responding courteously to enquiries.
  • Good IT skills are also essential with the willingness to learn new systems.

Desirable:

  • An awareness of the application/ Clearing/ enrolment process and related Higher Education (HE) terms
  • Experience of working collaboratively in a team

Commitment required

Once you have passed the interview stage of this application, a commitment is required that you work the shifts confirmed with you during the duration of the summer period for the dates set out. We also expect you to be available for shifts until the end of September. It is crucial that you are able to work within this time period, so please ensure that you are available to work on these dates before applying.

Training

Full training on all systems and tasks will be provided.


Normal working hours will be:

20th June - 17th August 2022

· Monday to Thursday - 08:30- 16:30

· Friday 08:30 - 16:00

(half an hour lunch)

Saturday 13th August 2022: 08:00 - 20:00 (half an hour lunch)

Thursday 18th and Friday 19th August 2022:

· Shift allocation will be either 08:00 - 20:00 or 10:00 - 22:00 each day

(half an hour lunch)

Saturday 20th August 2022: 09:00 - 16:00

(half an hour lunch)

Sunday 21st August 2022: 10:00 - 14:00

22nd August - 30th September 2022:

· Monday to Thursday - 09:00 - 17:00

· Friday 09:00 - 16:30

(half an hour lunch)


Interviews: Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th June.

Start date: 20th June 2022
