I am delighted to be recruiting for our client based in Peterborough for a 'Multi Skilled Warehouse Operative'
Responsibilities
The building of large equipment
Picking, packing, unloading containers, stock replenishment and rotation, assisting in stock takes, loading carriers ready for dispatch. General house-keeping duties and installations. To assist the quality control team with rework and quality inspections when required.
Purpose and Mission
Picking, packing, unloading containers, stock replenishment and rotation, assisting in stock takes, loading carriers for dispatch, general house-keeping duties and installations. To assist the Quality Control team with rework and quality inspections when required.
Key tasks
As appropriate to advise relevant staff of discrepancies with customers orders, stock orders or stock holding and to inform relevant staff where order and stock processing problems are discovered.
To contribute in the continuous development and implementation of new systems and methods of working for improving the operation and efficiency of the warehouse and distribution centre
To ensure that goods are being packaged and dispatched out in a timely manner that adequately protects them from damage or deterioration during transportation.
To ensure that customer orders are processed and prioritised in a timely manner so that deliveries are planned to meet the required delivery date. To ensure that all relevant stock takes are completed accurately and in a timely manner to Company expectation
To take responsibility for ensuring and maintaining that all stock held within the warehouse and distribution centre is stored to prevent damage or deterioration. All items must be easily identified and stored to facilitate ease of retrieval. Ensuring that health and safety requirements are continually met.
Skills
Fork Lift licence essential Counter Balance & Reach Truck
Experience with using hand tools
Experience with hand held scanners and bar coded operations preferable
Experience in picking and packing
Experience in working with power tools
Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures preferable
Basic computer skills
Hard working, reliable and honest
Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards
Ability to work using own initiative whilst adopting a methodical approach to work - employing effective time and task management.
Educational Background
Educated ideally to O Level/CSE standard
