This is a key leadership position within the Retail Team, the Marketing Manager has overall responsibility for leading and managing the Other Brands team. Responsible for setting the long-term strategic direction and overseeing the development of annual plans for all brands. Also responsible for setting the communications strategy and creating and executing all 'out of store' activation plans. This leader will have two direct reports - all working very closely with Customer Marketing, Insight, Innovation, CSR, Commercial Teams & the Global Team.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the ABR plan (Vol, GIV, EBIT and specific brand health and share targets).
  • Develop a clear long term strategic direction for Exterior Brands and work with central team in delivering a Pre Deco Strategy
  • Full ownership and responsibility for development of the annual brand plans and their execution through the Customer Marketing, Digital Demand and Commercial teams
  • Responsible for both product and portfolio management as well as leading the development of ATL communications, managing A&P budget
  • Develop a 3-year innovation pipeline and launch plans for Other Brands
  • Lead, motivate and coach direct reports to create a highly effective team culture
  • Develop a clear comms strategy for Other Brands, including full ownership and responsibility for creative development and execution of the media plan
  • Leverage CRM and digital to build more personalised conversation with our customers working closely with the Digital Demand & Relationship team.

Skills & Experience:

  • Ideally educated to BA/BSc degree level or equivalent
  • Experience of marketing in high performing businesses managing multiple categories and/or brands (ideally within FMCG, Retail or DIY industries)
  • MM/SBM level experience with good knowledge across consumer and professional markets
  • Ideally cross functional/market experience (Customer Marketing, Sales, Innovation, Insight, Global)
  • Good understanding of P&L Management, Stage Gate and S&OP/IBP processes
  • Proven ability to influence across a broad network of the organisation, along with experience of working within a matrix organisation structure and influencing Global stakeholders
  • Experience in development and implementation of brand plan
  • Good creative judgement and experience in developing work across multiple channels and a proven track record in inspiring agencies to deliver great work
  • Commercially astute (with ideally a good understanding of the building/paint/DIY category)
