This is your opportunity to join Babcock as an Estimator on a 52 week fixed term contract.

You will produce quality estimating inputs for all cost elements in support of bid submissions through the evaluation of client specifications and drawings, ensuring that Preparation of detailed estimates for new business opportunities in various commercial business sectors.

This role is based at Rosyth

Here at Babcock International Group in Rosyth we aim to deliver engineering-led and world-leading products and services across our Engineering, Specialised Manufacturing, Gas Handling Systems and Naval Marine business streams

Who we are looking for?
We are looking for an Estimator that is able to work within time constraints imposed by both external clients and internal stakeholders to meet drop dead submission deadlines. You must be flexible in the approach and be able to make key decisions independently or as part of a wider group. Have the ability to determine build/construction methodology and outfit strategy to assist scheduling activities and to provide a basis of estimate.
You must have good communication skills with the ability to collate and present information at appropriate levels. This is a customer facing role so you should have the ability to network and seek support from other areas and team members as and when required.

We are looking for someone that is proactive but with the ability to react quickly when necessary to meet challenging objectives

What will you be doing?
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Create man-hour estimates, detailed Material Take-offs and definition of Sub-contract scope in support of bid submission and project expenditure planning
* Summarisation and alignment of estimating inputs to meet client pricing schedule requirements and internal WBS
* Application of own and business knowledge during estimate build-up
* Liaise with internal and external customers to develop and substantiate estimates as required
* Identify and document estimating assumptions, clarifications, Risks and Opportunities

The experience you'll bring
* Recognised trade apprenticeship or suitable alternative
* A minimum of an ONC in trade, project management or Quantity Surveying or equivalent
* You must hold or have the ability to obtain SC Clearance
