The VCAS / ACAS Programme Mandate is to deliver safe, available & capable submarine platforms throughout defined life extension and commission extension periods in support of the overall submarine programme. The department achieves this by developing and applying engineering domain knowledge and project management best practice to assist in the development of technical and project solutions.

Who we are looking for?

We are looking for an Engineering Project Manager to apply technical engineering knowledge, and project controls support across schedule management, risk and opportunity management, change management, as well as budgeting and cost control.

What will you be doing?
You'll be accountable for the delivery of allocated projects within time, cost and quality constraints as well as the identification & development of future opportunities. You won't have any direct reports but will be expected to lead the allocated department resource within the scope of your allocated project.

The experience you'll bring
* A bachelor's degree in engineering or technology OR A Higher National Diploma or Foundation Degree in engineering or technology, plus appropriate further learning and experience OR A Higher National Diploma, Higher National Certificate or a BTEC National Certificate/Diploma in engineering or technology (or equivalent), plus appropriate further learning and experience OR An appropriate apprenticeship of relevant specialisation.
* Registered with a professional body at the IEng status, or capable and engaged in structured development towards its achievement.
* Project Fundamentals Qualification such as APM/Acoste/RICS or equivalent (for Project Officer role).
* Related sector experience (marine and/or defence engineering experience (O&G, Aerospace etc., Commercial shipping)).
* Project Management experience.

You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
