We have an exciting opportunity to join a world-leading bank, working full-time on a temporary contract as an ROI Assistant. The role is based in Sheffield and will be hybrid working (usually 1-2 days in office and the rest working from home).

 

Role Purpose

Banking Operations must have a robust process in place to identify, record, track and respond to customers with data access request and voluntary and mandatory third party data disclosure requests and/or proactive disclosures (including from or to regulators, law enforcement, court, tribunal and central government authorities) in line with applicable laws and regulations and with appropriate Data Privacy Team and Legal/RC engagement.

You will initially be trained and focus on either the rights of individual process or the legal order process, with a long-term goal of becoming a specialist in both areas.

 

Responsibilities

  • To assist the processing and fulfilment of data subject rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or/and Legal Orders under multiple UK Laws and Regulations accurately and within legal timescales.
  • To respond to basic queries from stakeholders and refer complex issues to management. 
  • Extensive oversight of the customer and third-party journey to avoid potential risks, breaches, complaints or queries and escalating any concerns. 
  • Building and maintain good working relationships with both colleagues within the department, GSC Teams, Points of contacts and other relevant teams within the organisation providing support on both Legal Order and Rights of Access cases.
  • Support others understanding of and compliance with relevant legal, regulatory and internal policies, processes and controls.
  • Seek opportunities to work collaboratively with others to share information and ideas
  • Work with internal stakeholders including Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime teams and lines of business for guidance and support on complex cases.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including FCA, HMRC and various crime agencies to ensure compliance with the Orders, negotiate court extensions, clarify requirements and set appropriate expectations.
  • Oversee work volumes and management information pertaining to Legal Orders, working with the GSC teams to support compliance with court dates.
  • Collation and provision of periodic MIs to key stakeholders as required.
  • Provide regular, consistent and constructive feedback to all points of contact, including GSC Teams to up skill where required.
  • Assisting management in the delivery of any ongoing projects.

What we’ll need from you: 

  • The ability to take ownership, using your own initiative.
  • To work 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
  • Availability to start the role on 04/07/22, finishing end of December ‘22

  • Ability to communicate information in a confident manner to the team and management.
  • Communicating openly and honestly and conveying information in simple and understandable ways to build trusting relationships.
  • Good organisational and planning skills, flexible, with the ability to prioritise and work accurately under pressure and to deadlines.

  • Ability to use own judgment and initiative to make timely decisions.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative with minimal guidance and as part of a team.
