This role is fully remote with occasional travel to any Babcock Hubs.
Compensation: £ 60,000 - £ 65,000 + annual incentive plan (20% AIP and Family BUPA but no company car allowance)

A significant programme of infrastructure investment is required on the Devonport site to meet the needs of the future MOD ship and submarine programmes. A new 'Major Infrastructure Projects' (MIP) Team has been established to undertake a range of major projects at Devonport, including design, build and commissioning of submarine maintenance facilities for Astute Class submarines. The portfolio is expanding and we are growing the team. The role is permanent and based at either Bristol or Devonport.

Who we are looking for?

We are looking for an Assistant Chief Engineer to be involved with making continuous improvement of Engineering processes.

What will you be doing?

* To support the MIP Head of Engineering Capability and MIP Office of the Chief Engineer in developing and improving our engineering arrangements (people, process, tools) for technical governance.
* To liaise with the wider engineering business to access learning from experience and relevant good practice.
* To develop training and briefing materials and courses.
* To utilise existing and new digital tools to improve the efficiency of our processes and workflows.
* To implement metrics and reporting on technical quality and process efficiency and compliance.
* To improve and simplify our processes and workflows.

The experience you'll bring
* A degree in an appropriate engineering or technical discipline (or equivalent)
* Chartered Engineer, registered with Engineering Council (or working towards)

You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
