This is your opportunity to join Babcock as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will be required to assist in the commercial administration of the Track Renewals Alliance contract, working on a number of small to medium sized contracts to deliver and improve agreed profitability and cash projections.

As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will personally develop core commercial, Alliance and industry related skills and knowledge, while working on the Alliance, Plain Line and S&C contract. Working alongside 2 other Assistant Quantity Surveyors, you will report into the Senior Quantity Surveyor.

What will you be doing?
Your main duties will include

* Assist in commercially managing the contract, providing a comprehensive and professional commercial service from contract award to completion.
* Contribute to delivering or improving on agreed profitability and cash collections targets, preparing Scope Variations, Adjustment Events and applications for payment in a timely manner for review and submission to the client.
* Support, from commencement to completion, the provision of all commercial deliverables in line with contract requirements and timescales (including supply chain contracts), monitoring the production of records, correspondence and documentation.
* Work with the commercial and contract lead to ensure all Scope Variations and Adjustment Events are submitted promptly in accordance with the contract.
* Grow relationship with customers, attending regular meetings to review and resolve commercial issues.
* Attend and assist in the preparation of appropriate information for project meetings.

The experience you'll bring

* BSc in Quantity Surveying, equivalent qualification or working towards
* Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor, including parttime while studying
* AssocRICS or other relevant RICS membership, or someone working towards Chartership
* Effective communicator (written and verbal) and experience in negotiation
* You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
