We're looking for someone dynamic, ambitious and eager to make an impact to join our team as a Project Procurement Manager.



The difference our New Project Procurement Manager will make



As the Procurement and Supply Chain lead on several Babcock Defence Programmes, you will be responsible for a small team of Senior Buyers and Buyers driving performance and value opportunities.



The Project Procurement Manager will work with the Focus Area Leads and Head of Supply Chain to:

  • Deliver value opportunities and levers
  • Create, seek approval and implement programme sourcing strategies
  • Deliver supplier relationship and contract management
  • Achieve Procurement and Supply Chain KPI targets
  • Deliver operational excellence
  • Ensure governance compliance
  • Identify and nurture talent within the team

    You will have strong negotiation skills with the ability to interrogate, understand and agree terms and conditions, supplier proposals and other requirements to meet business needs. You will also need to have experience in managing complex and challenging supplier relationships.



    Experience

  • Considerable experience in a supply chain role, preferably in a Defence or Engineering environment
  • Excellent negotiation of pricing and terms
  • Team management skills


  • Skills and attributes

  • Analytical skills to analyse data and make decisions
  • Be able to read and understand technical drawings and has the ability to communicate complex requirements to / from supply chain will be an advantage.
  • The ability to establish strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business
  • Self-motivated with a flexible approach to workload

  • Education and qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Membership of a relevant professional body, for example the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply at a Level 4 or above.
